About USA Feedyard

USA Feedyard was started in October of 1997 by a group of cattle feeders to provide a commercial feedyard that would be the best in the business. Since that time we have had a few changes in ownership but it is still owned by cattle feeders for cattle feeders. We have averaged over 93% of capacity since we started in business. The feedyard is managed by Jeff Purvines, who is also one of the owners, he has managed feedyards for over 35 years. He has as much experience as anyone in the business. The staff is also very experienced including; Chase Carlin Assistant Manager 25 years, Johnny Moffett Yard Superintendent 30 years, Ramon Garcia Feed Superintendent 30 years, Manuel Balderrama Mill Superintendent 40 years, Crystal Fulton Office Manager 10 years, and Lana King Comptroller 17 years. Additionally, we have many long term employees who have worked for USA for many years, including several cowboys who have been here for over 30 years. 

We try to make our program fit the individual cattle feeders. We finance cattle with proper equity, we partner with customers, and we pasture cattle with and for customers. We help the cattle feeder buy cattle to feed, contract the cattle when fat, and advise which method of selling the cattle makes the most sense at that time. We can buy grain and commodities for the customer, run projections on potential cattle to feed, and help with your tax planning. We sell our cattle to five different and distinct packers located in 7 different locations. We handle all types of cattle. We have Native cattle, Sale Barn cattle, Mexican cattle, and Holsteins. We are equipped to handle all weights including stressed cattle. We have a great deal of experience with small calf fed Holsteins. Many of our pens are designed to feed calf fed Holsteins. If you can explain it, we can probably do it. 

We maintain the facilities to a high level of readiness. We have five loaders to continuously clean the pens and keep things in good order. We are prepared for bad winters and hot summers. We have many innovative ideas and procedures that give us a great reputation.
